CRICKETERS BEER FESTIVAL

The day after Cath’s wedding this little festival provided a chance to have
some different beer to Doom Bar. ROC & KOC were up The Martians
clearing up after the nuptials (although KOC did put in an appearance later
in the day when it became apparent the promised food would be much delayed)
so that left PC and TM as the main Mengo protagonists. PV made a fleeting
visit with MV and Jekka.
The set up was as previously experienced here - 5 beers inside and a
further 6 on the outside stillage. And, as previously, the selection proved
to be rather interesting. The Magpie beer produced a refreshing hoppy start
and even the two brown samples, Oh Crumbs and Fridge Magnet, were fine
examples of the brewer’s art. But the best proved to be at the end, with
the Jammy Dodger stout and the Pale Rider best bitter.
Strau Ben Zee again provided the music to drink by. They will be holding
another festival on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday weekend.
