Now firmly fixed in the diary, Mengo arrived at the festival in dribs and
drabs.

The set up was similar to previous festivals with 5 beers on in the pub and
6 on the outside stillage. The choice was pretty reasonable and PV settled
in to sample most of them. Unfortunately, only one note was made on the
beers tried – apparently the Botley tasted a bit like Flack Manor beers;
not the best recommendation.

Settled on the large circular table in the bar, a perusal of the pub showed
a distinct decline in the numbers attending compared to the previous year.
Some of the local characters seemed to be missing, but this did make for a
quieter afternoon until the ubiquitous Strau Ben Zee started up.

With the majority of beers covered on the Sunday a further visit was not
required on the Wednesday this year.
