23rd WOKING BEER FESTIVAL

Very much like any other Woking Beer Festival apart from the trains. There
was some signalling problem up the line from Woking which severely delayed
TC’s train from Winchester. He arrived half an hour late. The trains were
still disrupted at going home time and as there was nothing listed for
Winchester, TC travelled back to Alton to pick up his lift from Jo.
On the beer front, Ian had done well and there were a number of untried
breweries and beers to try. PV & ROC again started in the Wurlitzer
Hall and enjoyed both the beers from Thameside. In the Main Hall the Black
Flight Session Stout proved full of flavour despite its low ABV but its
deficiencies were highlighted by the Saracen Stout tried immediately
afterwards.
Of course, Mengo vacated as soon as the Wurlitzer was piped through to the
Main Hall.
