KOC again volunteered to take the main body of drinkers to the festival. ROC, of course, cycled. This year the festival was at last blessed with some decent bank holiday weather, and it was indeed very pleasant sitting outside near the beer tent as the smoke from the hog roast wafted over.
As has become the norm, there were some thirty beers on the list with the six beers from two local breweries (Triple fff and Surrey Hills) in the pub and the remainder in the tent.
Whilst the non-drivers got stuck into various beers from the list, KOC contented himself with a couple of halves of Dark Star Hophead. His time would come later at the Garden Gate.
Although ROC stuck to our usual pub festival trick of drinking halves from a pint glass, it proved unnecessary this time as Julian has provided lined half pint glasses.
In a departure from previous Saturday lunch sessions, there was live music provided by Headgasket. Smooth jazz playing as the Titanic went down. Just a shame there was no Titanic White Star on the beer list to complete the illusion.
