15th CROSSWAYS INN BEER FESTIVAL

Churt, GU10 2JE

Saturday 9 July 2011

PV headed off early for the bus and was joined at Farnham by Trev Warner and Mike Andrew who warmly greeted the rest of the Crookham Travel beer drinkers already on board.

On arrival shortly after midday PV found the lounge bar already busy so he headed for the public which, though sparsely populated, did contain Jem and Satan. Paul and Suzy joined the group but there was still plenty of room available when the rest of Mengo turned up.

The beer list had been circulated earlier in the week and as PV had some fourteen desires to accommodate he made a quick start. One of the early choices proved to be his favourite of the day - Salopian Conundrum but it was a close run thing as the Yeovil British Summer Time could almost have been Bavarian. And, of course, the two Dark Star beers did not disappoint. In fact keeping the selection blonde proved to be a good move with only the Yeovil Lynx Wild Cat disappointing.
