If the man had mentioned he had a free weekend we could have planned in a trip to Reading but there you are and we had to try the White Lion and vet the new owners of the Red Lion so expectations were set.
Due to some story about dog sitting in Farnborough the man slipped in a couple prior to hitting the White Lion.
FN had a better offer so did not turn up prior to football but Jim and Quintin made up for it.

PV thought a 2.30 kick off a bit late so, as he was dog sitting in Farnborough, he would start there. Discussions on the disappointing Tottenham result against Arsenal and hopes that the Man U performance would be better dominated. MV and Timmy turned up for a swift half.

As it was still too early for the Aldershot start PV called into the Weatherspoon’s to see if there was anything interesting. Found he had just missed the Beartown Bear Ass but did find an early arrival for the forthcoming Beer & Cider Festival was on – Gwynt Y Ddraig Black Dragon – but as this was a 7.2% cider he gave it a miss. However, his new friend was enjoying a pint of it. Made a second visit on the way back.

Quintin was happy – Liverpool had just lost to Arsenal. The gang was all there sitting around a scrubbed pine table. As PC said, just like being in Germany. Apart from the beer of course.

New tenants but the pub remains the same. Retreated to quiet end away from the loud jukebox and sport TV. Clare behind the bar. Free chips.
