The Albion | 134 High Street | A comfortable a warm pub with a pleasant atmosphere. Two real ales, including Black Sheep Best Bitter |
Budweiser Budvar | 5.0 | 1.99 |
Marquis of Granby | 4 West Street | Pub was empty, but from the loud music and layout it is obviously a young persons place which comes into it's own latter. |
Corona | 4.6 | 2.65 |
The Assembly Rooms | 147-153 High Street | A typical J. D. Wetherspoons conversion. Very busy and rightly so given the service, selection and prices. The De Koninck had been especially casked for the chain and was less gassed as a result. |

We tried a couple of others (The Old Bank and The Vestry) but they had nothing unusual to offer us and so we moved on.
The Rising Sun | 14 Heathcote Road | An exceptional pub tied to Pilgrim for it's draught real ale but which carries a large range of foreign beers. We managed to arrive when they were holding their foreign winter beer festival. All beers were draught except the Kolsch. |

We just had time to call back to The Assembly Rooms for one more before the train home. Could have had two as the 5.17 was cancelled.
