The pub has been smartly refurbished and was attracting a good crowd. The young barmaid did not reflect the new smart look – she far surpassed it.The beers were too cold and must have been stored with the lagers.

Still has the tall man in charge and still attracting a good number of diners.
Again the beers were too cold but the landlord assured us they were not going through the chiller – it was just the cellar refrigeration was working overtime in the heat to keep everything cool.

Although now part of the Greene King community pub initiative there was little change to the pub interior, apart from the addition of several beer pumps. Most of the punters were on the side patio; the pub itself was quiet but held a grey clad figure in the corner. ROC was joining the ride. The inside soon got busy with the return of the coach from Glorious Goodwood for the buffet.

Another busy pub – it must be the sunny evenings bringing them out. After talking architecture we quizzed the barman on the name of the guest beer just shown as ‘Lancaster’. Investigations in the cellar proved the brewer was Lancaster but elicited no beer name. Going by the gravity it could only have been Straw.

Again buzzing. Helpful staff and with the barmaid, amazingly enjoyable trousers. The beers were very good – you can see why Eric is happier with the pub for the first time in years – and the best this evening.
