Jolly Sailor - Farnham - SU 834 466

Quiet night for the sailors watching England v USA; but then the
match was not quite so important as it was in 1787. Very friendly
staff, even if they were slightly bemused by customers actually
arriving by bicycle. All the beers tried were in good condition and
the prices were very good for a Farnham pub as well.

Brewer Beer % Price Mark Comment
Greene King IPA 3.7 £2.55 3.5 Up to GG standard
Morland Old Speckled Hen 4.5 £2.75 Not tried
Brains The Rev. James 4.5 £2.75 3.5 Really quite tasty

Plough - Farnham - SU 835 466

The last vestiges of its incarnation as ‘The Scream’ student venue
have disappeared to be replaced by a very pleasant pub atmosphere. At
first the beers seemed a little off but by the end of the pint we
realized it was just us who were ‘off’ and there was nothing wrong
with them. The Early Bird was particularly refreshing.

Brewer Beer % Price Mark Comment
Shepherd Neame Masterbrew 3.7 £2.70 3
Shepherd Neame Early Bird 4.3 £3.00 3.5 Hoppy and refreshing
Shepherd Neame Spitfire 4.5 £2.95 3

Wheatsheaf - Farnham - SU 838 468

It was nice to see the landlord maintains the tradition of employing
excellent barmaids, which is truly appreciated by our more mature
drinkers. To keep matters simple the landlord charges one price for
all real ales, which the older members of our party also appreciated.
With the football game competing with the quiz night, the atmosphere
was very lively. The Timothy Taylor Landlord and Hop Back Summer
Lightning were tried a found to be in good condition.

Brewer Beer % Price Mark Comment
Timothy Taylor Landlord 4.3 £2.90 3
Hop Back Summer Lightning 5.0 £2.90 3.5
Triple fff Alton’s Pride 3.8 £2.90 Not tried
Hogs Back TEA 4.2 £2.90 Not tried

Six Bells - Farnham - SU 850 480

Very friendly pub where they are working hard to bring back the trade
lost by the previous manager. The Greene King Ale Fresco was sour but
immediately taken off and changed. The landlady offered to display
some cleavage in an attempt to sway the beer marking but we were
immune to such incentives.

Brewer Beer % Price Mark Comment
Greene King IPA 3.7 £2.60 3
Greene King Ale Fresco 4.3 £2.90 0 Paint stripper
Greene King Abbot 5.0 £2.90 3
Brains The Rev. James 4.5 £2.90 3.5 Quite getting the taste

Garden Gate - Aldershot - SU 865 500

Cally does not offer to show her cleavage, she just naturally does.
She is keeping up the standard of the beer. Excellent price for the
Abbot.

Brewer Beer % Price Mark Comment
Greene King XX Mild 3.0 £2.70 3 Weak but tasty mild
Greene King IPA 3.7 £2.70 3.5
Greene King Abbot 5.0 £2.80 Not tried
