1st WHITE HART BEER FESTIVAL - 13th September 2008

Travellers

PV, ROC, RN, TM & KOC

Comment

Ali and Kev have brought the pub on leaps and bounds since their
arrival in May 2007. They have taken the pub from one where you might
have got some indifferent real ale to an establishment with up to six
beers available, Cask Marque accreditation and a 2009 Good Beer Guide
listing.
It was therefore no surprise when they decided to hold their first
beer festival. What was a surprise was the excellent smoking shelter
erected in the garden and the size of the car park.
There were over thirty beers to choose from, including Ale from the
Hart, specially blended by Hogs Back for the pub. Six beers were
available inside with the rest in the garden marquee where one side
of the smoking shelter acted as a bar counter. Overall the layout was
well thought out.
Some precaution had been taken for the pubs proximity to Ash; the
barrels in the marquee had a very stout chain passed through their
handles and then padlocked.
Four of the Mengo Drinkers travelled by bicycle with another making a
fleeting appearance via van mobile. After trying the St. Austell
Tiinners, TM and RN appreciated why PV and ROC always drink by halves
at festivals.
