15th Woking Beer Festival - Woking Leisure Centre TQ 007 578

Saturday 8th November 2008
A wet old day and without the usual crew, although a group from the
Garden Gate made up the numbers. The train was heaving due to
England playing at Twickenham.

Lucky I had to go via Evens the bike shop for a spanner as a call
from KO informed me that the park was closed due to the fire works
display later. The route was now past the police station and on to
my planned route to the Leisure Centre.

The normal queue back out into the car park and lucky the rain had
eased. KO as normal had a few spare tickets but soon got rid of them.

Some changes had been made; the tables had been moved from the
basement to along the wall by the foreign beer stand. Some things
had not, the Dorking boys (we met at Reading) were seated and
studying the form.

I joined TC and wandered the back stairs to the Wurlitzer room,
better for no tables. At the first bar we met Vic from the old GLC
days and he gave us some excellent advice on what to drink.

A normal Woking, good beer lots of talking. PC was hitting the
foreign beer. KO moving around talking to people. The beer on
draught was an Italian and seemed to last the session. I wonder why?

Next thing Woking station 15:48 waiting for the train on my own I
had missed TC leaving to get his hourly connect to the South. I
phoned him and he had made it no problem. Back to the Garden Gate
and MG was there and after one too many I went home.
