PubLocationOS Map RefShepherd & Flock Farnham - CommentIt being unseasonably chilly for June, there where only a couple using the outside benches and as a result the interior was rather full. Lots of suits enjoying an after work drink and watching England v Andorra on the box. We secured a seat under the set and ordered our pints from the rather curtailed choice available this evening. Although there were only two ‘guests’ available, unusually they were both milds. The Moorhouse Black Cat Mild and Tring Mansion Mild were both very enjoyable as was the ever-popular Sharp’s Doom Bar.

Ah, the pub with the bed ends. Very smart and clean, the only change from our last visit seems to the ditching of the sofa. So no sofa, no TV and no customers either. The two beers tried, Ruddles Best and Morland Old Speckled Hen were rather poor which may account for some of the lack of patronage.

Arrived at the pub just in time to see England complete a 6-0 win over Andorra. Oh dear, it looks like quite a few of our countrymen will be experiencing the delights of Castle and Lion next summer. There is something about this pub which always seems welcoming and it was no different this time. The two Greene King mainstays were available but everyone plumped for the Tom Woods Bomber Country. With its distinctive burnt palate it was not to everyone’s taste and one of us failed to finish his pint.

Neil has been here two years now and reports the time has just flown by. With the football finished, so had the custom. Beer was good if a little expensive for a Greene King IPA.
